Brushy Creek at Sunrise

Standing at water’s edge before sunrise

The eyes can’t see but the heart knows

The mind doesn’t understand it all yet

But the heart is speaking out

Many things baffle me in life

Things I will never understand

But perhaps it’s not for me to understand

But only to accept because my heart says so

The mystery seems only to deepen

The more I think on it

Maybe it simply transcends me

And I shouldn’t worry about it anymore

The power of my heart knows no bounds

Nor does it act in a logical way

It overwhelms my body

And takes it a different way
